WARREN –On January 21, Chairman Don Brown appointed Macomb County Commissioner Mai Xiong of District 2 to serve as Vice Chair of the Public Services Committee on the Macomb County Board. Responsibilities include oversight of Michigan Works/Workforce Development; Parks and Recreation; Planning and Economic Development, Public Works and Roads. In response, Commissioner Xiong released the following statement:
“It is an honor to be appointed to serve as Vice Chair for the Public Services Committee,” said Commissioner Xiong. “The residents of Macomb County deserve safe and reliable roads to get our families to school and work. I will fight to get our fair share of road funding so that we can make the long overdue improvements our roads require. The future is better for everyone when we have access to lifelong educational opportunities. We need to continue to make sure that our residents have access to learning, training, and post secondary education opportunities. Our goal should be to lift the income of every family, support the economic development and businesses growth in our communities.”
